St Antony of Padua leads an ass before the chalice and host

Anthony of Padua (died 1231) was a Franciscan friar and priest from Lisbon, who died at Padua. Anthony showed the consecrated host to a donkey, which then venerated the sacraments, ignoring its own hay.
