detail from Reredos with Profile Heads
Photo © Martin Crampin, Imaging the Bible in Wales

Four male heads in profile, perhaps the four evangelists, with two biblical texts and a central cross.
designer: Thomas Nicholson
Church of St Michael, Forden, Powys
east wall of the chancel
The two texts have a direct Eucharistic reference, bread and wine being the elements used in the celebration. Placed in this context they theologically indicate the Real Presence of Christ in the sacrament.
