Text with Paul: 'Christ is the head of the church: and He is the Saviour of the body' (Ephesians 5:23). Text with Luke: 'Jesus spake unto the people of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing (Luke 9:11). Texts held by prophets below: 'He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter' (Isaiah 53:7); 'They pierced my hands and my feet' (Psalm 22:16); 'I was wounded in the house of my friends' (Zechariah 13:6).
Dedication: 'Erected to the glory of God by the children of the late Hugh Hunter Hughes of Penmaen and Elizabeth his wife A.D. 1909'.
