Below are the symbols of each evangelist, and above are texts from either the first or last lines of each of the gospels. Upper roundel depicting Christ in Glory, holding a lamb, surrounded by seraphim.

Texts: 'The book of the generation of Jesus Christ' (Matthew 1:1); 'And they went forth preaching everywhere' (Mark 16:20); 'and were continually in the temple praising & blessing God. Amen' (Luke 24:53); 'In the beginning was the word and the word was with God' (John 1:1)
Given in memory of Alban Thomas Jones Gwynne of Monachty (died 1861).
