Frank Roper (1914-2000)
Roper was born in Haworth, Yorkshire in 1914 and studied at the Royal College of Art under Henry Moore. After the war he taught sculpture at Cardiff College of Art, where he later became Vice-Principal. He collaborated on commissions for churches with the architect George Pace. Much of his work may be found in south Wales, although he also received commissions from churches in England. His wife and collaborator, Nora died in 1999, and Roper himself in 2000.
