George Edmund Street (1824-1881)


Gothic Revival architect born in Essex and articled to Owen Carter in Winchester and then worked in the office of Gilbert Scott before establishing his own practice in 1849. G.E. Street was appointed diocesan architect for Oxford, where he worked until moving his office to London in 1855, and was subsequently appointed diocesan architect for York, Ripon and Winchester.
