Originally church of Cistercian Abbey of Aberconwy, founded 1172. Abbey removed 1283 by Edward I to Maenan, and St Mary's became the parish church. Parts of walls survive from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Tower and south transept fourteenth century, completed fifteenth century.
