Carmarthenshire County Museum, Abergwili, Carmarthenshire


Museum

Housed in the former Palace of the Bishops of St Davids. Medieval in origin (as a college of clergy) it was extensively remodelled by successive bishops in the nineteenth century. Repaired 1904-7 by W.D. Caroe, after a fire in 1903. Caroe extensively remodelled the chapel, which had previously been restored by Bishop William Laud in the 1620s.
